SHE CAN PLAY, a private football business and club for girls founded by Kat Clifton, is revolutionising women's football in the UK by employing full-time female coaches whilst operating on a self-sustaining model without external funding.

Founded in 2016 by Kat Clifton, former professional footballer. SHE CAN PLAY's mission is crystal clear: bridge the gap between grassroots and the WSL. SHE CAN PLAY employ professional full time female football coaches to deliver the highest quality coaching through Player Development Centres and Junior Premier League Teams. Trials take place annually.

The journey began when a group of women named SHE CAN PLAY became The FA People's Cup National Finalists in 2016 catapulting the brand on a trajectory of success.

Since then, SHE CAN PLAY's worked tirelessly to offer elite player pathways for girls aged 7-16 through their esteemed Essex and Hertfordshire Player Development Centres (PDC). The SCP PDC serves as a stepping stone to The FA Girls' England Talent Pathway, with coaches actively identifying and referring players demonstrating Lioness potential. Success stories include Hope McShreffrey and Bella Cowley, who proudly represented England after training with SHE CAN PLAY, highlight the program's effectiveness.

Inclusivity is at the core of SHE CAN PLAY's ethos. They offer subsidies to families requiring support and mentorship opportunities for aspiring young female coaches. Their dedication to equality extends to SCP Sportswear, all players wear a line of football kits designed by and for women.

The SHE CAN PLAY brand includes three Football Teams named the PANTHERS. The women's First Team launches during the 2024/2025 season and the Under 15 & Under 18's compete in the Junior Premier League. SHE CAN PLAY is committed to setting new standards of excellence, with a long-term vision of reaching the WSL in the next 8 years.
