About us

At SHE CAN PLAY our philosophy is simple, we want more girls and women to feel good playing Football.

She Can Play’s journey first began at The FA People’s Cup in January 2016, the largest 5 a side tournament in England with over 5000 teams entering. The She Can Play women’s 5 a side team were unbeaten through the local and regional rounds before becoming the 2016 National Women’s 5 a side Football Finalists. The FA Peoples Cup provided us with the perfect platform to kick start the growth of girls and women’s Football across the country. We are official ambassadors for Sport Englands‘This Girl Can’ campaign. She Can Play currently work with local charities, grassroots clubs, professional clubs, councils, County FA’s, mental health groups and schools to increase the number of females playing Football across England.

She Can Play deliver girls and women's recreational football sessions for all ages and abilities. We create elite player pathway opportunities for girls aged 7-16 at our Essex FA Player Development Centre (PDC) & independent Academy.

She Can Play believe in empowering women through playing, coaching and refereeing Football. We provide full financial football scholarships to one player in each team at our PDC/Academy every year. We also subsidise our players who are passionate about working within Football creating opportunities for them to become qualified coaches and referees through our She Can Coach and She Can Ref pathway.

2020 saw the launch of SHE CAN PLAY's first ever sportswear brand specialising in football kits designed for women. SCP are recruiting new football clubs to partner with that share the same values, passion and respect for women's football.
